A graduate of psychology from University of Arizona, Jessica has become the first licensed pilot without arms. Born with a rare genetic defect, she does most things with her feet and has achieved other feats like having a black belt in taekwondo – Jessica also participated in the 40-mile category of El Tour de Tuscon and wrote an autobiographical book titled Disarm Your Limits.

Jessica said many always see her not having arms as a limiting factor, but that she is here to prove them all wrong. Her husband said if he were to describe her in three words, it would be “kind, positive and unstoppable”. Jessica’s journey to becoming a pilot started when a fighter-jet pilot approached her and asked if she would want to become one.

Jessica got her license on October 10, 2008, after she had trained for three years and seen fit to be able to fly light-sport aircraft to 10,000 feet. Her can-do spirit had always been an obvious part of her as she finished the 40-mile part of El Tour de Tuscon, and in 2015 authored a self-help book, Disarm Your Limits, an autobiographical account of her life that inspires.

Jessica graduated from the University of Arizona in 2005 with a degree in psychology with a minor in communications.
