Many active players in the entertainment industries around the world seem to suffer from a plague of bad marriages as their relationships do not seem to last long, and it now appears as though they have discovered that it is better to be single than be in unhappy marriages, or maybe there’s just more to it. Well, Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akinsanya, has finally spoken up on why she walked out of her marriage four years ago despite just welcoming her newborn son.
The Yoruba film star said she left her young marriage of a year and four months because her safety and that of her son was under huge threat from her then husband and that she was afraid she could get killed, given the reality of her marriage at the time.

Young as the marriage was, Akinsanya it was hellish; she did not wish to die and did not want to become a murderer and so leaving was her only way out of the dire situation.
Here’s what she shared on Instagram:
“I left that marriage when my son was just 3 months old you think it was easy to make that decision? No. I left early cos I didn’t want to die, I left early cos I didn’t want to lose my child, I left early cos I didn’t want to be a murderer. (It’s a story for another day) I was married for a year & 4months & it was hellish. Hello, DO NOT KILL ANOTHER PERSON’S CHILD all in the name of marriage. I am also a mother & I know how I am striving to train & feed my son. Please, don’t pray or wish for a mother to labour in vain oooo it must be AN EYE FOR AN EYE”
