Nigerian Mum, Dr. Ann Amuta, Reiterates The Importance Of Establishing Friendship For An Enjoyable Marriage

A Nigerian mum well-known among a lot of young Nigerians, Dr. Ann Amuta took to Twitter to use her marriage as an example of why couples should make friendship – not sex, goosebumps, or butterflies – the foundation of a marriage.

Ann who is heavily pregnant with her second child works as an assistant professor in the School of Health Promotion and Kinesiology at Texas Woman’s University, explained that the pandemic has forced her and her husband to work from home for months and they spend all hours of the day with each other but their friendship has sustained them.

She wrote:

“Thanks to the pandemic, my husband and I both work fully from home and are together 24/7; yet, we still somehow like each other.

We can gist and laugh for hours and are never tired of each other’s company. This is not a result of love but a deep friendship.
