This, he said, is to stop the ongoing community spread of the viral pandemic.
Prof Abayomi made the call in a post via his verified Twitter handle @ProfAkinAbayomi, noting that all Lagosians should do more in this period to halt the spread of COVID-19.
The health commissioner in the tweet said,
“Dear Lagosians, with the active community spread, this is the time to do more. This is the time to stay safe more than ever. Remember to adhere to COVID-19 checklist. “Ensure handwashing with soap under running water. Mask up when in public and maintain physical distancing “This is the time to stay safe more than ever.”

Abayomi also urged residents to embrace the use of video app for meetings to reduce moving around and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
He also enjoined the people to eat a balanced diet and fruit to stay healthy, noting that eating a good diet is fundamental to having good health.
According to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Lagos remains the epicentre of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria with 27, 488 confirmed cases as of 23, December 2020.
The NCDC in its latest COVID-19 update on Wednesday also disclosed that Lagos confirmed 397 new COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours.
