Amid fear of the COVID-19 second wave, Lagos state government has directed civil servants from Grade Level 14 and below to remain and continue working from home.

This directive was issued on Sunday, January 3, in a statement signed by the Head of Service (HoS) Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

It would be recalled that on Friday evening, December 18, Lagos state Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu ordered civil servants in the state below level 14 to start working from home as COVID-19 cases spiked again .

The governor equally banned concerts, carnivals and street parties until further notice. He added that all night clubs in the state must also shut down immediately.

In a subsequent development, the Lagos government said the workers must continue working from home till January 18, 2021.

This, according to the state government, will help to stem the tide of the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The directive excludes staff on essential duty as well as first responders.
