Finance Professional, @Makispoke Writes Candidly On Her Conviction That A Lot Of Nigerian Men Can’t Make For Good Lifetime Partners | True Or Nah

A Nigerian-born American financial professional and venture capitalist based in New York recently took to Twitter to question the values Nigerian men bring to relationships.

The lady identified on Twitter as @Makispoke explained that when she tries to choose a partner from Nigerian men, “they bring little of needed use to the table”.

Makispoke who is looking for a life partner added that what most Nigerian men can offer is money and she “rarely” comes across a Nigerian man who earns more than her.

She posited that as for emotional support and intelligence, most Nigerian men don’t have the “range” adding that they are “mostly useless” when it comes to domestic labor.

She added that at the end of the day, these men who bring “little to the table” will still want the woman to submit.

Her tweet earned her criticisms from men but she doubled down and asked why men are upset since they say they are the ones forced to marry.

Below are her tweets that has led to a debate below.

”They just bring very little of needed use to the table. Everything they usually bring, I already have.

Emotional support & intelligence? Majority don’t have the range. Financial support? I don’t need it, and I rarely even come across Nigerian men that out-earn me. Domestic labor? Most are intentionally useless. So what is the value add?

This is one of the reasons it’s much harder to partner with the average male these days. When you realize how little they bring to the table, it starts to feel like you’re doing unnecessary charity. For some man that will still want you to submit? Make it make sense.”
