Father Murders Son Who Came Home For Christmas
A 16-year old boy, based in Lagos, who returned home in Nwofe community, Izzi local council area of the eastern Nigerian state of Ebonyi, to celebrate Christmas with his parents, has been killed by his father, The News Nigeria reports.
The Ebonyi State Police Command on Sunday confirmed the arrest of a 45- year-old-man, Nwofu Igbo,who killed his son. The Police PRO in the state, ASP Chris Anyanwu said that the suspect had confessed to the killing.
“The police are prepared to get to the root of the problem that led to the killing of the boy,’’ Anyanwu said.
A witness said that Igbo killed the son due to a squabble between Igbo and the boy’s mother.
“The suspect has, after a quarrel with his wife (mother of the deceased), banished her for reasons best known to him.
