Be a role model. You are your child’s super hero, so, working your talk is the most effective way to raise a child.

Your Kids Imitate You

The next time your child says or does something that throws you off balance, calmly take a deep breathe and ask yourself where that came from. Kids learn by listening and watching. They are very observant. They watch and observe you without your knowledge. So the onus is upon you to be a good example.

It parent’s responsibility to instill and support the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of their children from birth. Children learn appropriate and inappropriate behaviour from people in their immediate  environment, such as siblings, teachers, peers, nannies etc. A child sees his parents as super heroes so you should not say one thing and act contrary. To a child, daddy and mummy are always right.

Model the behaviour you want your child to adopt

Be a dependable model to your child, as they grow. As your child grows and begins to understand the connection between actions and consequences, make sure you to communicate remain consistent with your rules. The best way to help children do what you want them to do is by doing those things yourself. Set good examples.
