See David Beckham’s Reaction to Criticisms Over Daughter’s Dummy Use At 4

Following the massive criticism on David and Victoria Beckham’s daughter’s use of dummies at 4 (read here), a clearly upset David yesterday hit back in a post on Instagram.

He wrote: “Why do people feel they have the right to criticize a parent about their own children without having any facts ?? Everybody who has children knows that when they aren’t feeling well or have a fever you do what comforts them best and most of the time it’s a pacifier so those who criticize think twice about what you say about other people’s children because actually you have no right to criticize me as a parent…(sic)”

  • He has a point. It doesn’t concern anyone what they do with their kids. My child, my problem. If they are okay with their daughter harper using the pacifier, then so be it. To hell with what other people think.

  • Ofcos every parent will defend his parenting method whether good or bad.The fact still remains that a 4 yr old is too old for a pacifier.lf she had stopped using it,being sick wont make her accept it.There are other ways to pacify a child as every stage of development

  • I remember when Giuliana Rencic posted a picture of Duke on a car seat and got loads of backlash from people, correcting her about how the seat was not properly strapped. She later wrote a post and apologized, saying that she learnt from those backlashes she got. That the way she was strapping the seat imposes a lot of danger to the son. Fine David and Victoria, Harper is your kid but if anything bad happens to her, we’re all going to feel bad. So check yourselves and make some corrections where necessary.

  • There are other ways to comfort a sick child. She’s too old for the dummy, besides it has disadvantages.Anyway, none of my biz

  • What if she sucks her thumb, or wets the bed, what’s anyone’s business with criticizing the child, or the parents? I see adults carrying big dolls and nobody criticizes them even when some of us think that’s childish. A beg, let the little girl be. It’s purely the parent’s business/cross to carry! #myopinionthough#
