Lamar Odom Is Reportedly Out Of Coma. See Details…

The 35-year-old NBA veteran believed to have suffered a stroke and lost consciousness after overdosing on drugs at a Nevada brothel three days ago (read here) is reportedly now out of coma.

According to E! News, a source said he opened his eyes on Friday, spotted his estranged wife, Khloe, who has since been by his bedside, and said, ‘Hey, baby,’ before giving her a thumbs up and going back to sleep.

He also communicated with hospital staff asking to see his children with ex, Liza Morales – Destiny, 17, and Lamar Odom Jr, 13, who have all been by his bedside with Khloe.

TMZ reports doctors have taken off his ventilator and tentatively replaced it with a breathing mask to see how well he is able to function.

Describing the moment Lamar came out of his coma, Jim Harrick, Lamar’s former coach at the University of Rhode Island, told USA Today, ‘She (Khloe) reached down and said “you know I love you” and he kind of nodded. Three or four days after being scared to death and fearing the worst, that is a little hope, a little progress. She (Khloe) texted me that (information).’

On his current medical state, a source told PEOPLE: ‘The CAT scan came back clean, and they’re slowing taking him off each machine. He’s off dialysis and that looks good. We’re hopeful.’

It is still uncertain if Lamar will recover fully and what long term damage looms ahead.

Sources close to the family reportedly claim he does not have a will, and under the laws of California, Khloe is entitled to one-third of his net worth, believed to be around $56million, if the unexpected should happen.

Here’s hoping he recovers fully in earnest.
