See How Pastor Blamed The Devil After Raping Teenager

A 46 year-old pastor, Ifeanyi Bernard, has been arrested by the Nassarawa State Police Command. He is said to have raped a 13-year-old girl in the Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The alleged rape occurred last week while the pastor was performing deliverance on the teenager reports Punch News. The pastor claims that the untoward act on his part but the ‘handiwork of the devil’.

The Nassarawa Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Mohammed, said Bernard was arrested following a report by the father of the victim, Mr. Martins Ijiwo.

The police further said that the cleric, who lives in the Alikima Mararaba area of the state, lured the victim into his house under the pretext of casting out demons from her. He however, resorted to pushing the girl onto his bed before he repeatedly raped her. Mohammed also said that Bernard had threatened to kill the victim if she reported the incident to any member of her family.

Unfortunately for the rapist Pastor, the father of the girl learnt about the incident and reported straight away to the police who subsequently arrested him. Policemen obtained a bedspread and bottles of anointing oil from the suspect’s home as evidence.

Mohammed said that the pastor had a close relationship to the victim’s family as they were his church members and this paved the way for him to rape their 13-year-old daughter under the guise of casting demons out of her.

Bernard has owned up to the crime even as he claims not to know what came over him when he did it. He said,

“I had been into evangelism for some years now and I have been casting out demons from people who have spiritual and family problems before I met this young girl through her father, Mr. Martins Ijiwo. I have been a friend of the family for quite some time. I used my anointing oil to lure her into my room and all of a sudden, I was carried away and before I knew what was happening, I saw myself making love to her.”
