50-Year-Old Man Rapes 2-Year-Old Girl, Blames Evil Spirit

A 50-year-old man, Mr. Okon Michael, is being prosecuted by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly raping a 2-year- old girl in his shop.

Okon who has two kids aged 20 and 15, was arrested after he confessed to the crime. Laboratory tests had further proved that the minor had been defiled, reports the Guardian.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Cordelia Nwaiwu, has said that the command would no longer put up with such evil acts towards the girl child, adding that what Okon had done was ‘wicked and barbaric’. Nwaiwu also admonished parents and guardians to be more attentive to their children as depraved characters seem to be increasing within the society.

The accused argued that he was not quite aware of what he was doing as he seemed to be under an ‘external spiritual influence.’
