Scorned Woman Demands Refund of N450,000 Capital She Gave Ex-lover, Drags Him to Court

A jilted 49-year-old woman in Lagos, Christiana Ojukwu, has dragged her 42-year-old ex to court for refusing to refund the money she allegedly gave him to start his business. The man identified as Gerald Onuimo had reportedly promised to marry her but dumped her to secretly marry another woman when his business boomed. He has been charged before an Isolo Magistrate’s court with obtaining N450,000 under false pretence and remanded in prison custody at Kirikiri.

P.M.NEWS reports met Ojukwu five years ago and gave her false hope of marrying her, which prompted her to give him the money. When Onuimo’s business eventually picked up, he secretly went and married another woman without Ojukwu’s knowledge and later informed her that he had got married.

Onuimo said he dumped Ojukwu because she was far older than him and too fat, adding that his family did not want her.

Jolted by his betrayal, Ojukwu asked Onuimo to refund the money she gave him to equip his shop in 2011 since he had breached their agreement.

Onuimo reportedly refused to refund the money and told her that he had offered her his services worth more than the amount over the years as they both lived at Fasehun Street in Ago Palace Way Okota, Lagos where they met since 2011. He added that there was no agreement between them that he would refund her money.
