Robbers Slam 2-Year-Old Baby on the Road While Robbing Mum

Shasha division police have arrested two men on a motorcycle after they allegedly slammed a 2-year-old baby on the road while attempting to rob the baby’s mother in Lagos State, reports PM News.

The suspects, 20-year-old Olalekan Durojaiye and 27-year-old Femi Kromoga were allegedly apprehended by the residents while they attempted to escape on their motorcycle after the robbery incident at Salami bus stop in Shasha area.
The victim, Mrs Mary Nwanfor was carrying her baby, Samuel Nwanfor on her way from work and was at the bus stop to board a vehicle to her house when the incident happened. She the suspects rode their motorcycle up to her at the bus stop and suddenly made a dash for her bag. She also said that while she was struggling with them, one of them forcefully removed the baby from her hand and smashed him on the ground.

According to her, she was forced to leave the bag to pick her baby who was bleeding profusely. However, while the robbers were trying to escape, some residents who noticed what happened stopped them and handed them over to the police after they were severely beaten. Their motorcycle was also confiscated and taken to the station.

After investigation, the police charged them before a Magistrates’ court for inflicting injury on Samuel and snatching Mary’s bag. They pleaded not guilty to the charge and the presiding Magistrate; Mrs J. O. E. Adeyemi granted them bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum. They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail while the matter was adjourned till 11 December 2015.
