Russian Politician Dies in Murder-Suicide; Her Husband Raped Her before Detonating Hand Grenade

A dead Russian couple, 30-year-old Oksana Bobrovsky and her husband, 28-year-old Nikita Bobrovsky, were found half-naked inside an SUV vehicle which was parked outside an apartment building in Novosibirsk home, located 1,700 miles east of Moscow, Daily News reports. Nikita was allegedly a jealous husband and is said to have killed himself and his Russian lawmaker wife by setting off a hand grenade while he forced her to have sex in the backseat of their car.

The couple left behind their 4-year-old daughter, Angelina, who is now being taken care of by a grandmother.
Novosibirsk Mayor Anatoly Lokot thinks of the apparent murder-suicide as a “family drama,” while saying that he was not clear on ‘what sparked the husband’s jealousy.’ The sex was likely not consensual, he also noted.
The noise from the grenade was loud enough to alert neighbors of the horrible affair which took place inside the couple’s Toyota RAV 4 just before midnight. Investigators could not recognise Oksana’s mutilated face; she had been a member of United Russia, the federation’s most populous political party until her death.
A statement issued by the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk region says,

“She was very young, full of life plans and hopes. She was only 30 years old.”
