Mum-of-seven Welcomes Triplets At Home After Shunning Caesarean Section

Blessing Etoor, a young mother of seven who shunned doctor’s advice that her babies be delivered via Caesarean Section has welcomed triplets at home naturally.

Blessing who lives in a one-bedroom apartment with her family now has ten children through multiple births.

She told PUNCH,

“I gave birth to the babies in the house. I was not feeling labour; I was just calling on my husband to give me water to take my bath. I sat back and lay down. Just as I was sleeping, water began to rush out. Then I asked my husband to run out and bring somebody to take me to the hospital. But then he should ask his younger brother to come and stay with me. Before the brother came, it was like something was coming out of me.

I pushed and the first baby came out. So, I called on my husband to bring somebody in to help me. With the help, I was able to be delivered of the other two babies.”

Her husband, Mr John Etoor, a subsistence farmer, said he was also not in support of the CS and stamped on her hospital card because there had been no record of CS in his wife’s lineage. He added that he never prayed for multiple births but had accepted the babies as gifts from God.
He called on the public and government for financial help to raise his kids as the babies were currently at home with no adequate treatment.
