44-Year-Old Deacon Reveals How He Raped a 7-Year-Old

A 44-year-old deacon of the Jesus Saves Church was alleged to have raped a 7-year-old girl placed in his care.

According to PUNCH, the deacon, Obinna Aneke, who lives on James Esu Street, in Bariga, Lagos allegedly raped the victim six different times in his apartment and has been arrested by the police.

A police office told the media, “The girl’s mother had been good to him in the past. There was a time he didn’t have a job and it was the woman who fed his four children. So, since he had his own job, the woman thought he would reciprocate by assisting her family to get her two daughters to school, along with one of his three daughters attending the same school.

“Unfortunately, the man took advantage of the 7-year-old. He would undress her and insert his manhood in her private part. When he couldn’t penetrate, he would apply his spittle to make it easier.” He added that the act went on till last Tuesday when he again raped the victim and threatened her not to tell anybody and if she did, he would kill her.

It was reported that mother of the victim who sells food for a living and always had to leave home very early, made an arrangement with the deacon to leave her two daughter in his care until their school’s resumption time of 7;45am. The deacons daughter was said to attend the same school.

PUNCH reports that the girl later told her parents who reported the incident at the Bariga Police Division and they arrested the suspect. The victim was tested at LASUTH, Ikeja where she was allegedly confirmed that she was raped.

The deacon, denied raping the innocent girl. He said he only tried to defile her once but he couldn`t penetrate, so, he suspended the action.

He said, “This girl was taught to lie against me. I only attempted to have sex with her once and that was the day she told her parents. On that day, I shifted her pants sideways and wanted to penetrate, but when I saw it was not possible, I left her and ejaculated outside her private part.

“I just want to beg for forgiveness from all those I have offended through this action and I just want to die.”

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspect will be charged to court and warned parents to be watchful so that their children would not fall victim of rape and abuses.
