Ghanaian High School Graduate Goes Blind Following Continous Fixing of Artificial Eyelashes

A Ghanaian woman has landed herself in serious trouble after going blind as a result of a continuous fixing of artificial eyelashes.

According to a report by 233prime.com, a 24-year-old senior high school graduate, Maame Esi who resides at Adweso a suburb of Koforidua in the New Juaben Municipality of the Eastern Region, Ghana, with her brother, Papa Yaw is fond of always fixing her eyelashes ever since she completed her secondary education.

Despite several warnings from her father about the implications of fixing eyelashes too much, she never listened until the last set she fixed landed her in big trouble.

According to reports, some amount of glue used to fix the eyelashes dropped into the pupil of the eye which has resulted in some health complications.

Maame’s brother, Papa Yaw said: “For about two weeks when we couldn’t set our eyes on her, I went to her room to find out if she was there. I entered the room only to find her crying and complaining that she cannot see with one of her eyes.”

According to him, Maame Esi said she did not think the glue would affect her sight.
