“She was the breadwinner.” Brother Of Mum Killed During Evangelism In Abuja Laments

The brother of the evangelist and mum-of-7 who was murdered in Abuja recently during early morning evangelism in Abuja speaks out.

Prophet Ayodele Olusesan who happens to be the elder brother to the late Mrs. Eunice Olawale, the RCCG evangelist who was murdered in Kubwa, Abuja on Saturday, says that her sister planned to buy a car and complete the construction of a building for their father before her death.

Olusesan also said that his mother took ill and had to be hospitalized at the General Hospital, Ilawe-Ekiti after the sad news of her daughter’s death reached her.

Punch reports that the deceased was also said to have promised to refund the hospital bills of her 72-year-old ailing father, Elder Ayodele Akun who had yet to be informed of the death of his daughter until his health improves.

Speaking at the residence of the deceased in Kubwa, Olusesan describes his sister as the breadwinner of the family, who she said had plans for him and other family members.

He added that he chatted with her over the telephone on Friday night and that he was shocked to hear that Eunice had died the next morning.

“There is no day I don’t talk with her on the phone; I still spoke with her around 7pm on Friday and she promised to refund any amount spent on our father who is ill and is in the hospital.

“Eunice had also promised to complete the house my father was building and she also said she would buy him a car; she was a very industrious woman; she studied Quantity Surveying, and she was into property business, so she was doing well financially.

“Last month, I had a terrible dream in which I saw some assailants cutting off the head of a woman. In the dream, I picked up the head and chased after the men and I woke up. The dream was so vivid. I prayed and God directed me to fast for five days which I did.

“Though I was very close to my sister, I didn’t share the dream with her, because I never thought it had to do with her, but I shared it with my church members and we prayed against such a tragedy. We still prayed about it during our church vigil last Friday.”

He continues: “The painful aspect of the incident is that she was killed in the open, in a city like Abuja that has policemen on patrol everywhere. I heard that some policemen were saying maybe she was killed over a business dispute, but I want to say that my sister did not engage in any business deals with anyone because she shared everything about her business with me, she had no secrets.”

According to a family friend of the deceased, Pastor Alabi Lawrence, the family was waiting for the autopsy to be conducted on Eunice remains before the family would arrange for the funeral which he said might hold next week.

“It is pathetic that the people around the crime scene did not respond to her cry for help when she was being attacked; it is a pity, Nigerians are no longer  their brother’s keeper,” Pastor Lawrence said.
