Amazing! 20-Year-Old Mother Delivers 3 Sets Of Twins In 26 Months

Danesha Couch, a 20-year-old mother from Kansas, USA, has given birth to three sets of twins in a little over two years.

Daily Mail reports that Couch’s journey to motherhood began 26 months ago when she delivered two boys. Although one of them died from complications of premature birth, the other, Danarius, is now a healthy toddler.

She had girl twins, Delilah and Davina, fourteen months later and had another set of girl twins, Dalanie and Darla, last month.

The sets of twins are all fraternal, which means that they are from two separate eggs being fertilized, not from an egg splitting, sources say.

“So you have two eggs simultaneously coming down the tubes getting ready to be fertilized,” Dr. Elizabeth Wickstrom of Shawnee Mission Medical Center said, adding that African-Americans are more likely to have multiple multiples.

Couch has a condition in which she releases more than one egg per month, Wickstrom said. The 20-year-old mother, who did not undergo any fertility treatments, is one of few women to have three sets of twins, according to a British study which reveals that the odds of having three sets of twins are approximately 88,000 to one.

“I love babies,” Couch said, when she was asked why she got pregnant again after having two sets of twins. She added that her only regrets were that they were timed so closely together.

“I’m always picking something up, picking food up, changing a diaper,” the mother, who uses at least three dozen diapers a day, said.

But she has family nearby to help care for the babies, she said. Engaged to the father of the second and third set of twins, Jeffrey Presler, Couch hopes to get married in September.

The full-time mother revealed that she and her fiance do not plan on having any more children right away.

“I love babies but maybe in 10 to 15 years, when these ones are big enough to help,” she said.
