Britain’s Largest Nuclear Family Welcomes 19th Baby

A large nuclear family dubbed ‘Britain’s largest’ have welcomed their 19th baby, Phoebe Willow, into the world. The baby girl, born earlier this month, joins a brood of 9 sons and 9 daughters.

According to Mirror, their parents, Sue and Noel Radford, from Lancashire, who are childhood sweethearts, run a successful bakery in Morecambe and revealed they raise their large brood without claiming any extra state benefits aside from the regular child benefit.

The couple spends an estimated £30,000 a year of their own money bringing up their children,  including a budget of £100 per child for birthdays and £100 to £250 per child for Christmas.

Talking about their breakfast, the family said they consume two boxes of cereal and 18 pints of milk.

Sue got pregnant with their first child, Chris, 27, at a tender age of 14 and vowed that she wouldn’t have any more children after the birth of their 18th child, Hallie Alphia Beau, 13 months ago. However, in January this year, they announced that they were expecting another child.

Along with Chris, they are also parents to Sophie, 22, Chloe, 21, Jack, 19, Daniel, 17, Luke, 15, Millie, 14, Katie, 13, James, 12, Ellie, 11, Aimee, 10, Josh, 9, Max, 7, Tilly, 6, Oscar, 4, Casper, 3 and 13-month-old Hallie.

The family lost a baby, Alfie, at 21 weeks in July 2014.

Mrs Radford said: “I think losing a child changes you as a person, I’m not the same person I was before I lost Alfie. I will never be that person again but I’m learning to live life as an angel mummy and put a smile on my face when there’re times I really don’t feel like smiling.”

The couple say the original plan was to have three children, but they loved the experience so much that they simply kept counting, and they’d even consider having one more child to make number 20.

The couple also have three grandchildren.
