Public Holiday! FG Declares Sept. 12 & 13 To Mark Eid-el-Kabir Celebration

The Federal Government has declared next week Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 12 and 13, as public holiday for Muslims to celebrate the 2016 Eid-el-Kabir.

The announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau on behalf of the Federal Government in a statement released by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Muhammadu Maccido on Wednesday, Vanguard reports.

The Minister enjoined all Muslim faithfuls and Nigerians to continue to work hard as the government was aware of the present economic challenges facing the nation following the downturn in oil prices, assuring that appropriate steps were being taken to address them, especially through revitalizing  the agricultural sector.

In addition, he also said apart from the “Youth Empowerment Scheme”, a value re-orientation programme and other social Intervention programmes, the government has carried out a massive capital release all aimed at stimulating the economy towards the path of growth and recovery.

Expressing optimism, the minister further stated that the present economic difficulties will soon be over and therefore urged all to continue to support the government towards building a new formidable Nigeria.

He wished all Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
