15-Year-Old Girl Saved From Suicide Attempt After Uncle Raped Her Shares Heartbreaking Ordeal
A 15-year-old Kenyan girl is reportedly on admission at the hospital following an attempted suicide after she was allegedly raped by her uncle on Monday.
The unidentified girl’s mum had reportedly died several years ago after separating from her dad, forcing her to live with her grandmother.
According to Nairobi News, she was said to have returned from school at 5 pm on Monday and found only her aunt and two uncles at home. Her aunt later left with one of her uncles, leaving her alone with the other uncle.
The poor girl continues:
“I took some food and went behind a house in the homestead to eat. While there, my uncle kept on calling me on a mobile phone but I didn’t pick it. He wrote a message asking why I didn’t pick his calls but still I did not reply to the messages.
He later started accusing me of taking away a carpet from his house before he went back into our house holding a panga and ordered me to get in.
I went into the house as ordered and when I reached where he was, he ordered me to undress and lie on the couch where he repeatedly defiled me before going back to his house.”
Traumatized by the ordeal, she said she decided it was best to take her life. She then swallowed some herbicide she obtained from her grandmother’s house and left a note explaining the reason for her action.
The looming tragedy was however averted by her other uncle who left earlier who got there just in time and administered some first aid, before rushing her to the hospital where she has since been on admission.
She is said to be responding well to treatment, but still very traumatized and unwilling to return home.
“I don’t think I can stand to see this uncle who did this to me. I am better dead than live to see him and keep remembering what he did to me,” she said amid tears.
She also revealed the case has not been reported to police and suspects her family may sweep it under the carpet, adding that the uncle who defiled her and other members of the family were yet to visit her at the hospital since she was admitted.

When will Africa evolve when it comes to rape issue? I mean I don’t understand how they will let a rapist still be roaming the streets. This guy raped a 15year old and almost cost her her life and still the family does not deem it fit to report to the police and get his silly ass arrested? I am just so pissed right now reading this.

I hate reading this kinda stories, it makes my heart weep.
So disheartening how our young ones fall victim of rape.
I was very young then but I know when someone is making a wrong movement at me.
I can’t forget my little ordeal while in primary school (Army children school), we came to school and strike was announced so everyone was asked to go home. My elderly ones sent me to buy something from the school market.
On my way i saw a soldier urinating on a wall, I greeted him n passed not knowing the man saw me and was waiting for me. Coming back I saw him again. He called me into one of the empty class, carried me on his lap, tried to put his hands on my panties but stopped and told me to wait, he started pulling down his trousers ladies and gentlemen that’s when I sensed danger and took to my hills. He tired to catch me but as a small girl I was already far from him.
Till tomorrow I don’t know this soilder but the picture of this story will never leave me.
