Giving Back: First Lady Of Kogi State Celebrates With Special Needs Children Through Her Hayat Foundation

Amina Oyiza Yahaya Bello, Wife of The Executive Governor of Kogi State and also Co-Founder of the Hayat Foundation is passionate about giving back. She has taken her passion about the needs of special needs and disabled people to another level, by visiting a home for kids with Cerebral Palsy in Kuje.

During her visit, she emphasized the need for Government to develop an all inclusive policy for these category of persons as they are also uniquely part of the society.

She also expressed her concerns about the lack of consistent care and the living conditions of these vulnerable ones. She was accompanied by her entourage; a group of doctors, physiotherapists and volunteers for the foundation to the home, they catered to the children and also administered medical assistance and some therapy to the children. She also called on people to be the change that they wish to see in society.

Leaders Ng reports that she embarked on this project out of compassion for living with her own son, who suffers from Cerebral Palsy. She intends to use the foundation as both an advocacy and an intervention platform to see to it that these children’s lives are celebrated.
