Tunde & Wunmi Obe Win Big at Nigeria Music Video Awards

Nigerian music duo, who are also a married couple, Tunde and Wunmi Obe,  T.W.O, went home with an award at the 2016 Nigeria Music Video Awards (NMVA) event, held in Lagos recently at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island.

The duo won the award for “Best Contemporary Afro Video”  for Bianu, one of the songs on their 2014 album, T.W.O Plus.

Punch reports that the event, which saw the attendance of many stars, was hosted by comedian, Okey Bakassi.

The duo started their career together as undergraduates, while attending the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Lagos State University (LASU) in the late 1990s before getting married. Marriage for them was the icing on the cake, as Tunde and Wunmi Obe first made an entry into the Nigerian Entertainment scene on ‘The Charly Boy Show’; a television programme in the 1990s. Reacting to their win at the event, the couple expressed their profound joy and gratitude to the entertainment industry saying:

“We are truly grateful for this award because having come thus far in the business and still very much in the game, the gesture shows that we’re still very relevant and much appreciated for what we do.”

They are also the brains behind the famous Cupid Ball, a Valentine’s Day show designed to give lovers an unforgettable experience in a cosy environment. It has been gathered that fans are already looking forward to this event which is set to hold in February next year.
