Father Kills Twin Daughters Over Witchcraft Allegations

Awnyanime Festus, 40, has been arrested by the Cross River state police command for allegedly poisoning his 11-year-old twin daughters. Festus claimed that his daughters were responsible for his parents’ death, and that was why he killed them.

Vanguard reports that Festus allegedly gave them a black substance believed to be poison, to drink, which eventually led to their death.

A source who spoke on condition of anonymity said:

“The man told us that his daughters confessed to be witches and that he had no choice other than to kill them before they kill him. So he mixed acid with malt, took the twins to a bush path and gave them the substance to drink.”

Vanguard also learnt that the twins were always wandering the neighbourhood and in most cases strangers had to bring them home. Furthermore, Festus is said to usually starve them of food and chase them out of the house.

Investigations carried out have revealed that prior to their death, they had been incarcerated for about three days. Following this, Festus, let them out under the pretence of taking them to school before he took them to a bush path and poisoned them.

The incident is said to have occurred three weeks ago after which the Police have been trying to locate the suspect who has been on the run.
