Age Gaps Can Turn a Marriage Sour in Just Six Years as Partners Struggle to Agree – Reseachers

It is a wild belief that when one partner is much older than the other, there will be a lot of maturity and advancement in a marriage or relationship. This belief has since been in practice for a long time.

Women tend to settle for partners who are much older and sometimes men look for ladies who are younger in order to respect and understand each other as the belief accords.

According to a new research, it is said that marriages with a large age gap are less likely to work than when the couple is a similar age. The research concludes that they tend to understand each other.

The study believs that men might be happier with a younger wife in the early stages of marriage, but it can sour in just six to ten years. Similarly aged couples are better at dealing with difficult decisions.

The researh reveals that couples almost of the same age will be able to rub minds and work together as they are more in sync with each other and will do much better in the long-run.

In Africa, for a man to marry some one who is of the same age with him does not seem quite purposeful. They believe the man should be much older than the woman because he is the head and should command respect.
