Why Housewife Allegedly Threw Stepdaughters into a Well in Nasarawa State

The Police Command in Nasarawa State has nabbed a 20-year-old housewife for allegedly throwing her two stepdaughters, Zainab 4, and Baaba, 2, into well.

According to reports, the young wife identified as Aisha Isah, carried out the wicked acts at two different times but in the same manner.

Confirming the sad incident, the Police Command’s PRO, DSP Kennedy Idirisu, said the suspect who was arrested in Yelwan- Bassa village in Kokona Local Government Area, has already confessed to the crime and expressed remorse over her action.

Speaking with News Agency of Nigerian correspondent, DSP Idirisu further revealed that Aisha who gave birth to a baby girl in 2016 who died after six months, was always at loggerheads with the first wife, simply identified as Maimuna who she claimed was always instigating her children not to run errands for her.

This infuriated Aisha since she had no child of her own to send on errands.

On how she murdered the innocent kids, information gathered reveals that when the first child, Baaba was thrown into the well in April, the family believed she accidentally fell into the well and died since no one saw her.

However on August 26, Aisha raised alarm that the second child, Zainab, had also fallen into the well and the husband immediately dashed into the well to rescue the baby.

Unfortunately, the baby had died before the husband could rescue her. To his surprise, his daughter’s hands were tied, which drew suspicion from the family and villagers leading to the arrest of Aisha.

Upon interrogation, Aisha confessed to the crime and also accepted responsibility for the death of baby Baaba in April.

The Police Command’s PRO said the suspect would be prosecuted as soon as investigation into matter was concluded.
