Dear MIMsters: I Am A First Time Mum Worried About My Son’s Feeding Habits

I am a first mum and I am worried about my son’s feeding habits.

I was past my due date and was induced because of pain intolerance and shortness of breath. I have been having this for 3 years now after suffering from  pneumonia.

Then, I opted for a C-section. My baby’s breath wasn’t stable, probably due to fetal distress. He was treated, he has refused to suck my breasts from day 1, except at night at, for a maximum of 5 minutes.

Now that he’s four months old, I tried introducing formula but he has also refused to take this and if he does, it will just be a little even after forcing him.

I have taken him to see a paediatrician, funny enough, he was gaining a reasonable weight. They ruled out sickness but advised that I express and give, still the same issue. He’s however always longing to eat family food.

I’m no longer happy since I noticed he’s been losing weight since the past 3 days.

Secondly, at four months and a week, isn’t he supposed to start sitting without support? He’s super active and can play for Africa. He always loves rolling and he can stand on my laps with a little support.
