Toke Makinwa Goes Motivational | Cites Events From Her Failed Marriage

In a motivational post on social media, media personality and vlogger, Toke Makinwa, writes to people living in the fear of being judged or misunderstood by others.

Referencing her failed marriage, Toke said that she was judged by people who didn’t even have their shit together, when her marriage hit the rocks.

Toke Makinwa, 33, whose marriage to ex husband, Maje Ayida was dissolved last year, claims most of those who love to delve into other people’s affair are people who really do not have their own lives intact.

Toke, a co-host of the ‘Morning Drive’ on Rhythm 93.7FM, wrote;

”In my own words, invest in your glow up ????????????For anyone out there living in the fear of being judged or misunderstood, listen – “ Greatness is first despised before being celebrated”. Do you, do you over and over again and remember it’s really not that serious.

I remember when my marriage broke up, I was judged by people who didn’t even have their shit together, years after I’ve seen some of those people go thru their own battles, some even worse than I did and it taught me to be kind, to have compassion to face my front because nobody has it easy.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle that you know nothing about, let God alone be the judge of all of us because it’ll be a damn shame if you perfect Nancy don’t make heaven because you played judge here on earth. #wednesdaymotivation #judgenot #liveforyourself.”

Toke had on March 9, 2016, asked the court to dissolve her marriage on the grounds that Ayida committed adultery.

Makinwa had told the court that her husband committed adultery with his mistress, Anita Solomon, adding that the relationship produced a child.

She said since their marriage was contracted, the husband had “behaved in a way she could not reasonably be expected to continue to bear”.

She also said the husband was cruel towards her, adding that their differences became irreconcilable.

In her testimony, she said that after their marriage was contracted in 2014, cohabitation with her husband ceased on Nov. 8, 2015, without any child from the marriage.

The ‘On Becoming’ author also told the court of an instance where her husband threatened separation and even drafted a separation agreement because she discovered that he bought a ticket for his mistress to travel to London.

Their marriage was finally dissolved in October, last year, by the Igbosere High court in Lagos.
