“As you build with a man don’t forget to build yourself” Dumped Mum-of-2 Shares Her Story to Inspire Women

A beautiful mother of two who found the courage to become a success in her own right after she was dumped by the father of her kids, is encouraging women to build themselves while helping to build a man.

Okoro Blessing Nkeiruka, who works with the Nigerian police force pensions, took to her Instagram page to narrate how she was cheated out of her sweat by a man she thought she was building a house that was to ultimately become her home with.

The happy mama, who is also a blogger said she couldn’t wait to live in the new house and dreamt of what life would be like in the house. But she never lived in it. As soon as it was completed, her boyfriend separated from her.

Today, Nkeiruka has completed a 2-storey building consisting of 6 flats for rent. She went on to advise women to ensure they don’t forget to build themselves while building with a man.

Sharing a photo of her new building, she wrote:

”Let me share this to inspire you ….. I was once like you, that little girl with no dreams.
But I grew up so fast because of my early experience in life .

Once upon a time when all I did was pray for a man to be successful but never prayed for my self, maybe because I believed that some things are meant just for the men .

I met my ex in his room right in his fathers house, I prayed for him and he built a 1 bed room flat in his family compound. The family compound got so hot for me and I prayed again and begged God to give us a bigger place so we can move and he started completing his 3 bed room apartment.

I had so much hope, so happy I will have a big kitchen and a compound to myself, could not wait to have my room, as we went to inspect the place during weekends .

But guess what ?, I never lived in that house, we separated before he finished . I even went back to beg him because I felt cheated and felt another woman will come and enjoy my sweat but he did not want again.

People suggested juju for me, some suggested prophet, and some said they will take me to Ibadan were they will make him come back to me so I can go back and enjoy my sweat? but I had a powerful mom, God bless her.

She told me, NKIRUKA, listen to me, there is nothing your ex have that you can not have only if you work hard. I took my mums advise and started my journey to succeed.

This is 6 Flat’s for rent. Just wait until you see my personal residence ??. Abi Bom therapy lounge ?

Hey you young lady. As you build with a man don’t forget to build yourself . You can do everything a man can do and even more. Build yourself is what we call plan B….I am a product of grace .

We were perfect, very perfect outside but we fought inside.
You see that smile on that picture was plastic.
I was beaten to the alter on my wedding day.
What happened because I was tired and refused to pack plate?
I swallowed it and marched to the altar.
With tears in my eyes the pastor asked will you take him as your husband for better for worse, till death do you part?? Tears rolled down my eyes but the crowed clapped, screaming tears of joy .
I embarked on the journey of marriage.
At the age of 19 years I endured like a lion.
This fine young man here is an animal.
He beat me up and even beat up my younger ones. The day he beat me to coma, he was beating my lifeless body before he was stopped and I was rushed to the hospital .
Do you know what my mother-in-law told me as I gained consciousness , she said (Nkiru, lucky will beat you again o, get ready cause the father beat me too )
I went back into coma.
He begged and I went back home.
This continued until I decided to face reality .
But the truth is, do you know why we women endure domestic violence ???

1) financial security . Yes I was scared to leave because I did not know how to begin financially .
2) society .. Yes after bragging to my friends , and society see you as a lucky perfect girl you will want to keep it that way .
3) loneliness … Yes you are scared if u will find someone better . I was saying who will marry me again , with my boobs like this , stretch marks , milk was still coming out of my boobs as of then , my big tommy etc , I was insecure , so I stayed .
Until one day , I woke and took a strong decision to walk away.
And when I left I left with nothing.
I left empty handed and embarked of this journey .
I kept repeating my name – Nkiruka , Nkiruka , Nkiruka (my future is bigger ) until I reached my destination.
Now I can hit my chest and tell myself I took the right step, even though I never knew where I was going.”
