Dear MIMsters: For Desiring A Male Child At All Costs, My Depraved Father Did This (Part 2)

Story continues…

He told her that Nurse Nkoyo was not the only one with whom he fathered children, that 3 other nurses- Nurses Grace, Mary and Hannah whom my mother hired to work with them at the hospital, also had 3 other girls for him. Nurse Hannah was that matron who had helped my mother the day I was born.

My mother was devasted!

Nurse Nkoyo was not kept as a secret because she made good use of father’s sperm by not giving birth to only ‘nonentities’ who would allow his brother’s name to perish- my mother was told by my uncle (my father’s immediate younger brother) when she asked why she was kept in the dark till then.

My father told her that he was leaving a will, and he would not want mother to contest it when he was gone; he said he wanted to rest in peace.

After his burial, the lawyers came and we were shocked to hear what my father left in his will.

He left for his son, George, my half-brother from Nurse Nkoyo the very house we all lived in- The twin duplex my mother had inherited from her parents and which she signed over to him. Yes, you heard me!

The other ‘wives’- Grace, Mary and Hannah also got one house each.

At the time of their death, my maternal grandparents left 5 houses amongst other possessions for my mother. If you are following my story very well, you would realize that my mother (with her 8 daughters) was left with just a house out of all that was originally hers.

It was a big blow to my mother! But like always, she submitted to my father’s wishes.

Of course, George and his mother asked why the hospitals- which now had branches were not in the will.

When my grandparents started the hospital, they registered it in my mother’s name with strict instructions to the lawyers that it must remain in my mother’s maiden name.

My father has been dead for 18 years now.

Before his death, 3 of my sisters have become doctors so they took over the running of the hospital, which is doing very well now.

All the other ‘women’ have settled into the houses they ‘inherited’ and despite some people telling my mother to contest my father’s Will, she refused.

This God that we serve is a faithful God. All my mother’s daughters are doing very well. All of us are married to good men. We all have good jobs. Most of us stay outside the country and my mother visits each and every one of us from time to time. Our children (Funnily, most of them are boys) adore their grandma. Life is just so sweet for us but these other women- Nkoyo, Grace, Mary and Hannah will not let my mother have peace.

Do you know why I said I was angry at the beginning of my story?

I will tell you.

Last week, my mother got a court summon asking her to come and explain why she has not been giving her 6 step-children out of the proceeds from their father’s business- the hospitals, even though the business is making good profit.

This time around, I am glad to tell you that my mother shall not be fighting this battle.

These are the people who will be fighting for her: 1 of her sons-in law who is a judge, 2 of her daughters who are lawyers, 3 of sons-in law who are SANs, 3 of her grand-sons who are lawyers, 2 of her grand-daughters who are lawyers, and 1 of her grand-daughters-in law who is a lawyer.

Even though I am angry at their effrontery at suing my mother along with her three daughters who run the hospitals, I am glad that for once, my mother will be getting the justice she deserves.
