New Study Reveals How Eating Fish Affects A Child’s IQ And Sleeping Habit

According to research, fish contains a good number of nutrients that are important for your child’s development. Most experts agree that the key nutrients are two omega-3 fatty acids – DHA and EPA – that are difficult to find in other foods.

Children who eat fish just once a week have higher IQs and sleep better, new research suggests.

According to the new research, consuming seafood at least once every 7 days improves youngsters’ IQ scores by 4.8 points compared to those who never eat it. The research found out further that frequently eating fish also makes children less likely to wake in the night, be tired during the day and/or resist going to bed at night.

The researchers went ahead to analyze 541 Chinese students aged 12 years old. Fish consumption between the ages of 9 and 11 was determined via a questionnaire that asked the children how often they eat fish in a typical month, though the questionnaire did not specify types of fish.
