Dear MIMsters: How Do I Protect My Niece From This Depraved School Principal

How do I protect my niece from this depraved school principal?

My 16-year old niece called me last night crying and I hate to say I am helpless. Money is a strong force; it most times dictates how loud a person’s voice can be. If I could help help it, I would take her out of that school but…

My late sister’s daughter, Annie called me last night crying. Since my sister died, I have tried to support her children- she had two of them; both girls with her husband who has since re-married.

I try as much as possible to stay away from their home because of his new wife who is not accommodating. My late sister’s husband also wants his daughters close to him so he wouldn’t let any member of his late wife’s family take charge of them.

It’s a long story that I cannot begin to recount now: The sufferings these nieces of mine receive from their step-mom is too gory to tell.

When Annie called crying last night, I initially thought the woman has started with them again until she told me that it was her school principal this time around. The man is beginning to touch her inappropriately. She told me all the inappropriate things the man has been doing to girls in senior classes and that they are scared because they do not know what to do. More so, one of the girls who summoned courage to tell her mother got thrown out of the school. She told me that that particular girl’s mother stormed the school to make troubles and that when the daughter was asked who could corroborate her stories, none of her classmates came forth so she was dismissed from the school for ‘lying’ against the school principal.

Annie is scared that what befell the girl would befall her, too if she tells her father or step-mom about what the school principal is doing to her so she reached out to me.

The school is in Ogun State but I stay in Lagos. Can I lodge a complaint at Lagos Welfare office? Would they be able to handle a case outside Lagos? Dear MIMsters, I need your advice before it is too late. What should I do?
