Hilarious! That Moment Ali Baba’s Wife, Mary Akpobome Became One-Minute Pastor
It’s a sweet feeling when friendship is evidently present in a marriage, especially in these days when unfortunately, many marriages are collapsing.
Now, even a blind regular follower of Nigerian stand-up comedian, Atunyota Alleluya Akpobome, 53, popularly known as ‘Ali Baba‘ will clearly see that there is strong friendship and mutual respect between he and his wife, Mary Akpobome, 50.
The dad-of-5 took to his Instagram page to share a funny episode that happened in his home on Monday. According to the acclaimed father of comedy in Nigeria, he had forgotten his wedding band with the linesman when he went playing football over the weekend. On attempting to leave the home without his wedding band, his wife insisted he wore another one. When he made efforts to decline, employing the excuse that the band was not blessed, his wife pulled his finger close, wore the band on it and called it blessed before sending him out of the house.

“Some people she will not mind their business. That’s how I went to play football and as a rule, was asked to remove my wedding band. I handed it to the guy running the lines. But when we finished playing… I forgot to collect it. I still did not notice, and went for @ALiBabaSeriously on NTA. Show finished and I went home… You won’t believe that those monitoring spirits saw that I was not wearing my wedding ring. Information got to First Lady, somehow. She asked me how I forgot the ring. I told her, again. Fast forward to when I was about to leave the house. Come and see several back up rings… coming from all corners. I said, no need will collect the ring on Saturday when… they didn’t let me finish sef. “Saturday kor, public holiday ni”. So, I gave another excuse. But these rings are not blessed. “How are they not blessed?” She pulled me closer, took my left hand slid the ring on the finger and went… “Father Lord, I bless this ring. My husband is blessed. My marriage is blessed. From the crown top of his head to the soles of his feet, you are blessed. Go and come back blessed.” I found it funny and I said i will write it. She said “And when you do tag me ooo… because, i didnt marry lines man.” End of story.“
