Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna has for the first time reacted to rumors that he and his Colombian wife, Sonia Morales Ogbonna have ended their marriage.

For months, the actor’s marriage has been plagued by controversies. Recall that in October 2018, it was gathered that his wife dropped his last name from all her social media accounts.

In addition, the Colombian beauty who is a life coach, a blogger, and a relationship expert edited her name on Instagram from Sonia Ogbonna Morales to Sonia LaReina. Also, Sonia’s pictures, as at the time, showed her flaunting her bare ring finger which fuelled the speculation that there is trouble in paradise.

Reacting to the divorce rumours, the 35-year-old movie star told HIP TV that he and his wife are still together. Though the actor subtly admitted that he and his wife are far away from each other, he however gave reasons for the distance which he says it is not due to divorce.

According to IK, his wife is simply in Europe where she’s attending to her business and their son.

”You are not divorced until you are divorced. My wife and I are cool, we are not divorced. She’s back in Europe with my son, who is schooling over there. My wife got her business going on and school at the same time.

The fact that we are not probably like we used to doesn’t mean that we are divorced. We are just taking things one step at a time, taking it easy, hopefully, everything works out good tomorrow.”

A few months ago, the dad-of-two, while dishing out some marriage advise, revealed that 90% of people in marriages are unhappy and wear fake smiles.

“Our generation must change their approach to marriage for the sake of the next generation. This is not just for me as an individual but for those who need it. 90% of marriages are unhappy and wear fake smiles and pretend to be happy while depression is the case.

First, we must remember that u married a friend, a support system, not an enemy or competition. You are now one. And since u chose that person out of a world population of over 7 billion people, your job is to protect that person always and make each other happy “Most people get married believing a myth.
