In the wake of disturbing rape allegations making the rounds in the country, Nigerian musical icon, Abolore Adegbola Akande, better known as 9ice, has voiced his opinion on the matter.

In an interview with Goldmynetv, the single dad-of-three said that rapist should be killed and he can actually kill one. 9ice further stressed that no man has any reason to rape a woman if she refused him, adding that there are so many commercial sex workers out there that could be patronised at cheaper rate, rather than forcing themselves on a woman.

Speaking in Yoruba language, he said:

“No to rapist oooh. Ladies are plenty naa, don’t you have mouth to toast a lady, are you mad. If I see a rapist I will kill him. It shall not be well with rapist, they won’t prosper.

Even if you cannot toast them, 5k, 10k, 20k, they are plenty at Ikeja. Rapists should be killed. What is wrong is wrong… a rapist is worse than being a robber.”

Shocking cases of sexual abuse especially on women and innocent children across the country have been widely reported in recent times. Just recently, there was a sad story of 4-year-old Khloe who was allegedly raped by a full grown man, Idris Ebiloma, in Abuja.

In June alone, an Islamic cleric who raped a 16-year-old girl claimed that he got married to her a day before the first rape incident.

There was also another case of a pastor who was jailed for raping a 14-year-old. The most controversial case came two weeks ago when Busola Dakolo, mom-of-three and wife of singer, Timi Dakolo, accused Biodun Fatoyinbo, the senior pastor at COZA of raping her when she was a minor, in her parents’ home. Fatoyinbo denied the charge, but stepped down as pastor.
