Expert: Why We Should Encourage Our Men To Help With Household Chores

Husbands and wives find all sorts of ways to get on each other’s nerves. Whether it’s leaving the toilet seat up, turning the thermostat above 68, or leaving dirty dishes in the sink, at some point all those living in marital bliss have to come to terms with the give and take of sharing the same living space.

Perhaps the most common complaint women have about their male partners is their failure to help with the household chores.

However, according to an expert, men who put equal or more effort into doing household chores are more likely to have higher emotional quotient, EQ and are happier than men who do not do or share the household chores fairly with their partner.

According to Dr. Huang Wei Li from Taiwan, men who do household chores generally enjoy three benefits — higher EQ, a healthier body and a healthy lifestyle.

The benefits can be seen through their efficiency in completing tasks. As they come home from work and continue helping with the household chores, this means that they are great at allocating time for different tasks and completing them.

They are also more empathetic towards their partner and family which will benefit them in the long term as it helps build a long-lasting and happy relationship.

The expert also added men who share the household chores fairly have a healthier lifestyle as they will spend more time at home rather than outside. He said:

“Washing clothes, mopping floors, doing the dishes, these are all forms of exercises and they are great to be done especially after dinner.
