Newly Wed, Charles Okocha Spills About His Reasons For Getting Married
After surprising his fans with the news of his engagement, Nollywood actor, Charles Okocha popularly known as Igwe 2Pac has revealed his reasons for finally settling down.
Last week, the rapper revealed that he was set to tie the knot as he released stunning pre-wedding photos of himself and his wife.
In a follow-up post, Charles shared a video of him and his wife in traditional outfits as he revealed that he would be tying the knot on Saturday, November 9th, 2024.
Gushing over his African Queen, Okocha who is well known for his unending social media antics, stated that she was the best decision he ever made.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Punch Newspaper, the newly wed disclosed that he and his now wife have been together and dated for seven solid years, and now the time is right.
He explained,
“I am getting married because it’s only right for me to be married. We have been dating since 2017, quietly, with no social media show of affection. She lives in America and is a nurse. So, it is true.”

Okocha also spoke about his two teenage children, saying,
“My kids are very comfortable and happy with the news.”
The actor’s disclosure clarifies doubts following the announcement of his getting married as fans and followers wondered if it was for a movie shoot or not.
Okocha surprised everyone when he uploaded several pictures with his fiancée on his Instagram account on November 5, 2024.
The social media post included the hashtag, ‘#MICHARLES2024’.
Okocha had previously been open about his reasons for not getting married, citing the prevalence of divorce in society.
Back in 2023, he said to PUNCH,
“The truth is, I have never been married in my life, and I am a happy man. You and I know what is going on these days; you see a couple married for a few years, and next, they are divorced. These are people you’ve looked up to, and now they’re divorced; how, then, do you want me to get into this marriage thing?”
“I will get married, but I am just taking my time. I have two beautiful kids; a son and a daughter. At this time I am just focused on taking care of my adorable kids and that’s it, and that’s enough. They are my kids and they keep me motivated,”
he added.
