New Mum, Adesua Etomi Creates Awareness About Hyperemesis Gravidarum As Pregnant Woman Dies Over Sickness

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington is creating more awareness about hyperemesis gravidarum following the death of a pregnant woman who also battled with the sickness.
According to American media outlet PEOPLE, the pregnant woman, identified as Jess Cronshaw, took her life while struggling with the debilitating condition, which causes extreme nausea and vomiting, often leading to weight loss and dehydration.
According to the media outlet, the woman killed herself after the extreme morning sickness left her bedridden.
Reacting to the news via her Instagram story, Adesua who also experienced the condition while carrying her second pregnancy, expressed her frustration over people not understanding how serious the condition is.
She appreciated her husband, doctors, family, and friends for rallying around her when she was battling with the condition.
The mother of two stated that the ailment isn’t ordinary morning sickness and is a serious condition that affects the quality of one’s life. She wrote:
“When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t get it and I hate it. I am grateful for my husband, my doctors, family, and friends who rallied around me.
It is not an ordinary morning sickness. It is a serious condition that literally affects the quality of your life”.
While celebrating her birthday in February, Adesua recalled the trials she faced in 2024.
She recounted how she battled hyperemesis, was admitted to the hospital, her husband underwent cancerous tumor surgery, and she had an emergency C-section.
After surviving the aforementioned, Adesua said the devil once again toyed with her life as she had a harrowing healing process, but God saw her true.
