Sexual Harassment: Oby Ezekwesili Slams Senate As She Hails Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, has thrown her weight behind the embattled Senator representing the Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
We earlier reported that Natasha was on Thursday slammed with a six-month suspension without pay following allegations of sexual harassment she leveled against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Reacting to the suspension, Ezekwesili, in a post on her X handle, said, “Natasha won today,” alleging that the lawmaker was bullied by the Senators who spoke at the Thursday plenary.
She described the six-month suspension slammed on the Senator representing Kogi Central as a “vicious abuse of power”.
According to her, instead of probing the sexual harassment allegations levelled by Natasha, the red chambers “decided to choose the ignoble path of vicious abuse of power and desecration of our public institution”.
She wrote:
“Investigate the accusation of sexual harassment is all that sensible Nigerians have collectively asked the @NGRSenate to do, but no, they have decided to choose the ignoble path of vicious abuse of power and desecration of our Public Institution @nassnigeria.
The long-necessary Battle for the Soul of Nigeria will definitely happen. It is not a matter of whether it will. It is a matter of When.”
“Did I just hear a voice of a Senator say : “She’s not coming back” to Senator @NatashaAkpoti

She continued:
“I hope those Senators in the Chamber of @NGRSenate today and the ones who conveniently disappeared all heard the last word of their inspiringly bold and unbowed colleague Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan @NatashaAkpoti?
She courageously said as she left the Chamber today: “This Injustice shall not be sustained”. The wise among them will be haunted by this until her words surely come to pass. The unwise among them will not even understand what she said.
For all of us that care about our democratic processes and principles, we are glad that : “She Said What She Said!” A Woman like Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan. “
In another post, she wrote:

That was the most they could do- collectively abuse their powers. As always. Natasha is holding strong. Really strong.
