‘I Used To Make Mistake Dating Down’ – Tiwa Savage Shares Relationship Resolution On The Kind Of Man She Now Wants
Award-winning Nigerian singer, Tiwa Savage has shared her relationship resolution on the kind of man she wants to date, boldly declaring that she is no longer interested in dating men who are not richer than she is.
Speaking during a recent interview with British media personality, Zeze Mills, the 45-year-old single mum candidly reflected on her past relationships, admitting that she often dated “down” and prioritised love over financial stability.
According to the self-acclaimed ‘Queen of Afrobeats’:
“I used to make mistake dating down saying I don’t care if you’re not making money, it’s just love.”
However, the music star said she is now ready to flip the script. According to her, she’s at a stage in her life where wealth is now a key factor in choosing a partner, noting that the public can judge her if they want. She continued:

“But now, I think I need someone that just has money. I think I’m at that point now. Love is really nice but you can judge me for wanting a wealthier person if you want.”
The mother of one went on to say that she’s spent too many years trying to make it work with men who didn’t meet her financially, and now wants to try something new.
“I want to try that [dating someone who’s wealthier]. I have tried the other way for so many years. Let me try what it’s like dating a wealthy man,”
she concluded.

Tiwa Savage was married to her former manager, Tunji “Teebillz” Balogun, from 2013 to 2018. Their marriage produced a son, Jamil.
