“There is this popular belief that I bash and hate men. It’s not true. I launched TM Beauty when I was so depressed, but people didn’t know. I prayed to God that I wanted to turn 40 being a mum. I clocked 40 in November, and God did the pregnancy in December. God didn’t fail me. He is never late”.
Somewhere during the show, Toke got teary as she recounted how an X user mocked her failed IVF Journey.
According to her, nothing has ever broken her like the tweet….
“But I didn’t share the fact that I’ve had a couple of failed attempts of trying to be a mum, and I remember this particular tweet that somebody tweeted at me, I don’t know how they found out about my personal business but the person wrote that tweet online that this is why your two IVF had failed.
Nothing has cut me in my life as much as that tweet (breaks down in tears)…Jesus! Am not crying cause you Mudaf**kers don’t deserve my tears but it made me go back to God and say look at me, I’ve become the person that people are now terming barren.
In Snapchat, I post and people are like don’t go and born, I just wish you would go and have a baby, and am like just because I haven’t sat with a Ring light and told you guys how I tried and it did not work, how I got disappointed on this journey cause I didn’t want to talk about it but that was happening behind the scenes, I stopped praying, I stopped going to church, I had totally given up and I was like yeah! Even if you talked about God, I was like yeah whatever.”
Recall that, Toke was once married to fitness expert, Maje Ayinde but the marriage crashed in 2016, after two years on the grounds of adultery.
Opening up on her failed marriage, she noted how she was blamed for her marriage failure even though her ex-husband fathered a child with another woman.
She said people had different versions of what they thought her marriage was, which left her traumatized as she was the victim.
