‘When You Marry A Delta Man And You Want To Leave, Make A Plan’ – Nigerian Mum Advises As She Shares Her Experience With Her Ex-husband

A Nigerian woman, Tracy Mcwary, has advised women married to Delta men to have a contingency plan before leaving their husbands.

The mother of one gave the advice in a Facebook post on Monday, November 10, 2025 when she narrated how her ex-husband tried to stop her from leaving when she was done with the marriage.

According to Tracy, the day she made up her mind to leave him, her ex-husband, who was not home, instructed the security man to lock the gate and then he locked her car using the tracker he had installed on it.

However, not deterred, she called her brothers, including one who is a military officer, and they arrived with their friends.

She said she also contacted a Deputy Commissioner of Police, who connected her with an Area Commander and he dispatched police officers to the house.

Her ex-husband took to his heels when he arrived and met her brothers, their friends and the police officers.

“I was married to a Delta man from Delta North Senatorial District, and I must say, it wasn’t easy leaving him.

The day I decided to pack out, he instructed the security man to lock the gate and then locked my car using the tracker he had installed. I had to call my brothers, one of whom was in the military and he arrived with his friends.

I also contacted a Deputy Commissioner of Police, who connected me to the Area Commander, and he immediately dispatched his men to my ex-husband’s house.

When my ex-husband started driving back to stop me from leaving, he met men on the ground, the police officers, my brothers and their friends. He fled, and they followed him, but he managed to escape.

I was able to pack out safely and later called a towing van that took my vehicle to the Gwarinpa Police Station for safekeeping. Afterwards, I came back, removed the tracker, and took my car.
