Malnourished Nine-Year-Old Boy Handed Over To Ogun State Government
Korede Taiwo, the nine-year-old boy who was chained by his father, has been handed over to the Ogun State Government, Vanguard reports.
According to the report, the Ogun State Police Command handed the young boy over to officials of the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development at the Zone 2 Area Command, Abeokuta.
Sources say the boy was later handed over to the Director of Social Welfare Services in the ministry, Shotubo Olumide, by the Officer-in-Charge of Anti-Human Trafficking of the Command, Oluwatoyosi Bello, and was thereafter moved to Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, Abeokuta.

Speaking on the development, Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the Ogun State Governor’s wife, Olufunso Amosun, had shown interest in taking care of the young boy, who insisted that he did not want to go back to his father’s house,.
Vanguard reports that Adejobi further said that the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone2, Abdulmajid Ali, had ordered that the suspects be charged to court after a thorough investigation into the matter.
This is good news. They will take better care of him there at least.
