Michelle Obama Wants Her Kids To Be Raised Normal
Joining Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show on Thursday night, the First Lady Of The United State (FLOTUS), Michelle Obama talked about preparing her kids for life after the presidency.
Being in the spotlight, you would imagine that Sasha and Malia enjoy plenty of perks as bonafide members of the first family. However in an interview with Jimmy Fallon, the first lady says otherwise;
“You know, it’s really interesting. My kids, they’re 15 and 12, and they want nothing to do with us,” Mrs. Obama said.
Of course, the presidential spotlight brings a set of issues most other teens can’t even imagine. The bottom line: “They really want normalcy, and the White House isn’t normal.”
Huffington posts reports that FLOTUS said she’s doing what she can to help the girls keep a realistic perspective on life in the outside world, too — because soon enough, they won’t have all the trappings of their father’s presidential office anyway.
One of the things that I’ve told my staff, I’ve told the Secret Service, is that when we’re out of here, in a few years, they’ve got to be able to function as normal people. And so driving is a part of that. So we’re going to have to figure that out. Ladies and gentlemen in D.C., watch out!
