Tragic: Newborn Baby Blinded By Stray Bullet
A stray bullet from a hunter’s gun tragically hit a newborn baby leaving him blind while being cradled in his father’s arms.
According to the Mirror UK;
Five-day-old Shayne Iverson was at his Pennsylvania home on Tuesday night when a bullet from a .308 hunting rifle flew into the house and struck him.
It went into the baby’s head and came out through his eye, leaving the little boy blind.
He was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition, but his aunt insists that his eye actually saved his life.
Beth Sinclair told Channel 11 news : “He will be blind. His eye actually saved his life because the bullet hit that instead of his brain.”
She added that the boy’s parents had been “amazing” throughout the ordeal.
“They’re not holding a grudge,” she said.
Police say the bullet is thought to have come from hunters who were on private property near the Iverson family home.
They had permission to be there, and the incident is being treated as an accident.
So sad.
So sad. I truly feel sad
