Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals Fitness Secrets
While Hollywood’s a town full of beautiful bodies, no one’s stands out as much as Jada Pinkett Smith’s, as the 43-year-old stunner consistently sports a six-pack, toned arms and legs to die for.
Thankfully, the mother of young stars Willow and Jaden Smith isn’t keeping the secrets of her sexy look to herself, as she opens up about some of her motivational techniques and strategies in the January/February issue of SHAPE.
The Gotham beauty said keeping her physique finely tuned involves moderation, as she’ll change up workouts based on the results she’s seeing.
“At one point, I wanted to go into a pro-fitness competition, so I was training really hard,” Jada told SHAPE. “I never did it, but that’s how I geared my mind, and I got too muscular. Now, I’m bringing it down. My trainer and I are into reps instead of heavy weights because the goal now is about sculpting.”
She said walking the stairs is one of her favorite exercises, “because at this particular point in my life, the attributes I really want to focus on are my butt and my legs. With the steps, I can sculpt glutes, quads, and calves; it’s a serious lower-body workout, and at the same time, I’m doing cardio.”
In addition to the hours she puts in at the gym, Jada told SHAPE she’ll tweak her diet regimen at times, as well.
“Our bodies are our own unique universes,” she told SHAPE. “Personally, I like to eat carbs. Breakfast is oatmeal, a banana, and another piece of fruit like a grapefruit or an orange. Later, I have soft-boiled eggs or an egg-white omelet with spinach or salad. I make sure to have a lot of greens and fruit in my diet.”
And yes, she’ll splurge, with the key being timing.
“I have that figured out too,” she said. “I can hit a pizza on Friday — I love pizza — and then I have two days to let it dissipate through my system, so that by the time I get back on set on Monday, you can’t see that pizza underneath all of those tight dresses on Gotham.”
So how does Jada stay motivated to maintain her fit lifestyle? Causing her A-list husband, Will Smith, to gawk is always a good thing!
“Well, I love when Will looks at me and says, ‘You look so freaking good!’ When my husband of almost 20 years can’t take his eyes off of me? That’s amazing. But the number one reason I go to the gym is because it keeps me sane. It gives me a place to exert energy, frustration, sadness, happiness, and joy. I don’t go to the gym just to look good. I go because it also keeps my head straight.”

Wow.. Good one there. Loosing weight and getting slim is not the same as keeping fit. There’s something called skinny fat and i read it’s even more dangerous than being obesed. Most people are decieved by their appearance, just bcos they are slim they assume they are fatfree and healthy.
Fitness is not about being slim, it’s about being healthy from inside out. I laugh when ppl say i’m slim and have flat abs after so and so children, the qtn i always ask is, are you also strong and healthy?
Jada, to me, you are such an inspiration.
