GTBank Presents 5th Annual Conference On Autism & Free Consultation Service For Children With Developmental Disabilities
Guaranty Trust Bank plc, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, supports child healthcare under its Orange Ribbon Initiative. An important part of this initiative is the support for children with developmental disabilities, especially children living with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). This awareness and intervention programme is held annually and the 5th edition will hold from 30th of June to the 10th of July 2015.
The 2015 Autism Programme includes a 2-day conference and a 7-day child assessment consultation service for children living with Autism.
The 2-day autism conference themed ‘Bridging Gaps and Transforming Lives’ encompasses a broad array of concepts which goes beyond creating awareness for ASD, to include, increasing social justice education, helping individuals with special needs participate in the political process and providing access to technology for people affected with ASD. The seminar will also feature other initiatives such as behavioural training, teaching of non-verbal children functional communication and management of autism disorder.
The conference which is free to attend, will hold at the MUSON centre, Onikan, Lagos. It is open to Practitioners, Parents, Caregivers, Health Workers and Educators. To be a part, simply register at www.gtbank.com/autism
The Child Assessment consultation service will be provided to children with developmental conditions, including those yet to be properly diagnosed. Services that will be provided during consultation include, speech pathology, audiology, parent counselling, behaviour analysis, clinical psychology and occupational therapy.
