See Mum’s Reaction to This Rude Note From Angry Diners
A pissed off mum, Katie Leach, in a Facebook post, recounted how she was handed the nasty note above by fellow diners while at a Texas Roadhouse with her 10-month-old son, hoping it would make others think twice about judging a mother and her 11 month old son.
She wrote:
“Today was the first day I had to stick up for my son for being well, just a baby. I have never felt so hurt and protective over him, it broke my heart that there are really rude people out there. My mom, brother, sister, Drew and I all went out to dinner for our 1 monthly dinner we treat ourselves to as a family. We decided to go to Texas Roadhouse like always as it is one of our favorite spots.
As some of you who know Drew, knows his new thing is yelling. He honestly sounds like a terradacto kind of dinosaur. He will yell when I tell him no, when he’s super excited and happy or just for no reason at all. I’m doing my best to teach him indoor voice and to not yell back at me when telling him no etc, But he is only 10 (almost 11 months) and LEARNING.
As you all know who have gone to Texas Roadhouse it is loud, people talking loud, loud singing, loud music, it’s a fun family oriented restaurant.
Well throughout us sitting there waiting for our food and just talking Drew was yelling off and on. We all tried quieting him down which a majority of the time he did but he also was so excited to be around all the commotion. He was not yelling to be mean or because he was mad, it was purely from excitement and being happy. Not ONE TIME did we get any angry stares from people to quiet him down or anything like that.
There were little pink flyers on each table. After about 5 minutes of getting our food and eating(there was only one table behind us as we were at the end of the row) there were two Caucasian women in their late 50’s or early 60’s. The one sitting directly behind me got up slammed the pink flyer in front of me next to my food and next to my son and went and sat back down while her and her friend were chuckling. She had written on the back of the flyer “Thank you for ruining our dinner with your screaming kid! Sincerely, the table behind you.”
I was so shocked, outraged, and speechless, I had no idea what to do or say. I turned around and told her “I am sorry but my son is 11 months old. I am trying to get him to keep it down but he is still learning and he is only a baby. He is learning!” She then said “I have kids and grand kids and let me tell you none of them ever behave like THAT” I told her “well I really hope your children and grandchildren are a WHOLE lot of more respectful than you. I have never met anyone so rude” she replied with “Oh, they are. They are a lot more respectful than your child!” Let me remind you my son is 11 MONTHS OLD! Not one time had she asked me to try and quiet him down. Not one time did she mention to me that he was bothering their dinner. I could understand if he was 6 or 7 …heck even 4! As to where he would know better but 11 months old!? Or even attempt to come to me RESPECTFULLY if he was really bothering her that much.
I was so upset I grabbed Drew and went to talk to the manager. My mom came after me. As we went to go speak to him my sister and brother stayed at the table. The woman who was with her (who didn’t write the note) said “oh my gosh did you really do it!?” And they both started laughing. Let me remind you these woman were AT LEAST in their 50’s. I spoke with the manager who apologized and said he would talk to them. We went back to our table and he had told them they could finish there dinner but than had to leave quietly. He then came to our table and apologized again. He seemed a little speechless himself. He said he had two children himself and one on the way and he knows his wife would definitely know how hurt I felt.He told me Drew could tell as loud as he wanted and to not worry about it at all. He told me no matter the things he wanted to tell people like that, they just won’t listen because their personality is just rude. He then told us he wanted us to stay (as we had asked for boxes because I just lost any appetite I had). He paid for our meal and told us to come back anytime and apologized again. He had nothing to apologize for at all but the way he handled it really made me feel better about the situation. So thank you to Zach the manager at the Texas Roadhouse in Nampa, and all the waitresses who came up to Drew to tell him he was adorable and told me not to let someone like that ruin my night. To those two extremely rude, disrespectful women who think they have perfect children and grandchildren, I really hope you see your note on here and know I am speaking about you. At the Texas Roadhouse in Nampa around 6 pm. From seeing you while waiting outside and giving me dirty looks out there to writing that note and being the lowest kind of women you could be. I hope you feel embarrassed and you learn to not judge others as horrible as you did to me tonight.
Na wa o for some people, It is a public place for crying out loud
Oyibos has issues with practically everything. This is funny to me though.
Na wa oh
They have time to go through all that.l would have just tore d note n throw it back at then.Nonsense.If they were disturbed they had an option of changing table
Some people are so judgemental.
Hmmm this is serious. When will all these madness even stop?
What a rude old women. Haba he’s just 10 months for goodness sake, must every kid behave like your kids and grandkids.
A good manager you met. Drew’s mother handled the situation in a calm manner. God bless the little one, Drew. I have no words for the two Caucasian women than ask them to appraoch people in a better manner or move to another table next time.
